Last year, on their first anniversary, OnePlus announced that it will be launching a power bank and mentioned that it will be out in early 2015. And now after 3 months, OnePlus mentioned that the 10000 mAh power bank will launch tomorrow, March 17. There’s no mention of price this time, but back in December OnePlus gave it a price tag of $14.99 ( ~Rs. 950). Since there’s no revised price, it is expected to launch at the same price.

The OnePlus Power Bank will follow the material choices of OnePlus One smartphone – it will be available in Silk White and Sandstone Black variants. The OnePlus Power Bank has two 5V/2A USB output ports, for simultaneous charging, and takes roughly 5.5 hours to charge itself via a 5V/2A microUSB input charging slot. 4 LED indicators show the battery status. It has dimensions 142.8×72.6×16.2mm, and weighs 220 grams. The power bank is designed like a wallet, and being light-weight, it will be easy to carry around in pocket. And it has protection from electrostatic, short-circuit, overcharging and overheating. There is no button, and OnePlus mentions that the LED will glow with a ‘gentle shake’.

Including this latest accessory, OnePlus has launched a total of 12 smartphone accessories namely OnePlus Screen Protector, OnePlus One OTG Cable, OnePlus One Premium Screen Protector, OnePlus One Tempered Glass Screen Protector, OnePlus One Data Cable, JBL E1+ Earphones, OnePlus Silver Bullet Earphones, OnePlus One Bamboo StyleSwap Cover, OnePlus One Clear Case, OnePlus One Protective Case, OnePlus One Flip Cover, and now OnePlus Power Bank.

There is no invite system this time around, but availability will depend on the region you live in. The official website’s introduction page of the power bank ends with the line “Without any buttons or excess weight, it’s everything you need and nothing you don’t. Perfectly simple.” Good that you realize it’s everything we need, OnePlus. Now make it available globally!
